Rejoice started out as Ms. May Gorospe’s mission of thanksgiving, and in collaboration with St Paul Church for May’s to spread the message of Jesus, “God is love, whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them”, and “You’ll never walk alone”.
Father Joyle and the Finance & Pastoral Council members approved of the fundraiser and welcomed May back to St Paul to reiterate her message through her gifted talents for free and help raise funds for the good of St Paul Parish. Once again, she insisted she not receive any compensation. She also willingly absorbed her round trip airfare from Illinois, accommodations and other travel expenses.
May was a breast cancer survivor and shares her God gifted talents as a solo soprano to deliver her message of thanksgiving. Unfortunately, she informed us a few of weeks ago that the cancer had returned and she is currently under treatment again. She assured us that she wanted to continue with the benefit concert with her doctor’s approval to travel. God Bless Her! Please pray for her healing and good health.
Thank you, Father Joyle and our Pastoral & Finance Council members for their voluntary leadership support, especially to Ja’net Blea who provided the “thank you” gift for May.
Thank you to several of our parishioners who volunteered their own talents: sound equipment and technical assistance from the Godfreys - Ron & Ryan, our son Nathan, Hospitality Ministry, Lennie Heimericks, Steve McClean & John Nicola, various St. Paul Ministers for their help with ticket sales and the availability of an experienced Master of Ceremonies (Emcee) Joe Monteagudo.
Our appreciation goes to our talented home-grown performers (and their parents) Apollross Reyes, Stephanie McClean, Joe Monteagudo, and Eddie Aducayen, for participating in this musical event. Most of all to May, whose courage and faith brought her to us here at St. Paul Parish who generously shared her message of hope and her gift of song.
The audience makes the show a success - thus, we're truly thankful for everyone who purchased tickets and attended the concert and to those who gave monetary donations, a humble and resounding "Thank you".
Lastly, a big “Thank You” to our loving God for inspiring us - my wife Maria Blanca “Kit” and myself - to focus our time, effort & commitment and giving us the strength to overcome the challenges to see this project to completion and success.
"Rejoice" is God's doing, we all belong to His team. Glory and Praise be to God for His abundant blessings - "You'll Never Walk Alone"!!!
